On the flight to IC in Pennsylvania, I wasn’t aware how magical the experience would be. My friend and I signed up to be bedmates, and we were worried about who our roommates would be because we have had interesting roommate experiences in the past

Thank goodness, not only were our roommates clean, kind, and fun, they also became some of my best friends. Together the four of us shared memories that will last a lifetime. We saw the legendary Rebel Wilson together, we had snack parties on our beds  (making piles of crumbs), we created horrendous transition videos that barely  turned out, and we laughed and giggled all night until the sun came up. These moments that I shared with my girls are moments that I will hold close to my heart for a very long time. Not only did I become close with my roommates, but so many other people that I met along the way. I met one of my close friends during LEADS. The LEAD that I chose was “goat walks and good deeds” (where we got to take adorable  goats on a walk - it was a dream come true). She then introduced me to some of her friends, and all of us spent the last night of IC laughing, sharing stories, and having the time of our lives.

All in all, I tell this story not to promote IC, but to help you to understand how important it is to take risks. If I hadn’t signed up for IC, packed my suit case, and boarded the plane, then I never would have met my best friends. Life is too short, which is why it is so important to take a leap into the unknown; hence, you won’t  know what you’ll get out of an experience until you go for it. Therefore, I know from my time at IC that I have no regrets whatsoever, just gratitude for the life-changing experience. I hope to see you all at IC 2027, where we will make more memories that will last a lifetime.
