Dear Past Me,
I want to start by telling you how proud I am of you for taking that leap and joining BBYO. I know it seemed like a big decision at the time, and you had no idea what to expect, but trust meâthis was the start of something incredible.
At first, it might have felt like just another group or activity, but you were about to walk into a world that would shape you in ways you never imagined. You were nervous about fitting in, about finding your place, but little did you know that BBYO would offer you more than just a place to belong. It would become a foundationâa family, reallyâthat would teach you how to be a leader, how to connect with others, and how to truly embrace your Jewish identity.
You gained so much more than just memories. You learned what it means to be part of a community that supports each other no matter what. You built friendships that will last a lifetime, connections that youâll always hold close to your heart. You grew more confident in yourself, discovering strengths you never realized you had. You found your voice and became someone who could inspire othersâsomeone who wasnât afraid to stand up, speak out, and lead.
BBYO gave you the opportunity to experience things you never thought possibleâwhether it was through international conventions, chapter events, or simply spending time with people who understood you in a way no one else did. Youâll look back on these years and realize that it wasnât just the big moments, but the little ones tooâthe inside jokes, the late-night chats, the feeling of belongingâthat truly made this experience unforgettable.
Thank you for taking that step. Thank you for trusting in yourself and in BBYO. The person you are nowâthe confident, connected, and empowered version of youâis a direct result of the time and energy you invested into this organization. And I promise, youâll never regret it.
With so much pride and gratitude,
Your Future Self
