The Danny Rumph Classic benefits the Danny Rumph Foundation,  a nonprofit focusing on early heart screenings for young athletes to detect possible life-threatening conditions before it is too late. The Tournament itself consists of a combination of professional and amateur players, notably the Morris twins Marcus and Markeef from Philadelphia, and a special appearance from John Wall the 5-time all-star point guard for the Washington Wizards.
