My Lovely BBGs and fellow members of BBYO, 

We closed Shabbat with what we call ‘The Ritual Showcase’, and If you were there, you know it was more than just another program, it was a moment of reflection and connection. 

After coming together as a community for ‘Havdalah and State of the Movement’, we transitioned into Separates.  Separates are spaces designed to be a place where you can explore what it means to be part of the Order, and what being part of the Order means to you. 

As BBGs, our Separates allowed us to experience BBYO rituals not just as our history, but as our present too. 

When we Heartbeat and clap, and cheer together, we aren’t just performing tradition, we are carrying it forward. Each chant, each circle, each shared moment of pride becomes part of a legacy that goes far beyond convention. 

But the Ritual Showcase did not stop at celebrating our past. It challenged us to look inward. 

Who are you as a BBG? 

Who were the girls who came before you? 

Who are you becoming in the Order? Because of the Order?

Through reflection on our history, from our red book, and our own personal stories, we saw that our identities are shaped by the generations before us, as well as the experiences we bring into the room. None of us has the same journey, but we are united by our shared values of sisterhood, strength, and resilience. 

Even in the most vulnerable movements, whether we’re designing the best versions of ourselves or solving the puzzles that brought our traditions to life, the message was clear: understanding where we started helps us move forward. 

L’dor V’dor, from generation to generation, it’s not just a phrase. It is something we experienced. Stories shared. Traditions evolved. We are not just members of BBG; we are its continuation. 

The Ritual Showcase reminded us that being a BBG is not something that comes without work. It is something we build, protect, and redefine every single day. 

Because we are the future.
