Advisor Brag Board

You shared some incredible things about your chapters and we couldn't resist celebrating them. Here are some of our highlights!

"My chapter is a place where 50 passionate teens plan two events for themselves every weekend. It's a playground for the guys to make friendships and grow their leadership skills. The chapter is constantly evolving, as new alephs seek to add their voice to what the chapter can be."

"My chapter won the spirit competition at fall convention and have been consistently programming every other week, despite the zoom fatigue. They have taken the adversity thrown at them due to the pandemic and embraced it to put on high quality programming week in and week out."

"We're a brand new chapter started in Sept 2020. We had our first official elections in Dec and just hit our 12th member last week so we are now officially getting our charter. All of this done virtually. The teens have never had an in-person event-chapter or region. They are amazing."

"My chapter has the disadvantage of living in an area where there are few Jewish teens and those who are Jewish pretend they are not. It's difficult to recruit new members and retain old members. However, my teens have not given up and they do not let it get them down. They are amazingly resilient and talented."

"My chapter is the most positive chapter in the order. They had a serious debate between donating to a homeless shelter and an animal shelter for their StandUp cause. At the end they decided to do both."

"They always LOVE to hype each other up (including me!) Birthdays, accomplishments, showing up to a program, etc. They're so supportive of each other!"

"I have a pleasure of working with most wonderful teenagers this planet could have ever met. I really admire how involved they're in activities related to social activism and justice. They're unstoppable fighters for core values and things they believe in. I love how we challenge each other: whether it comes to creating a real chapter, through content of our meetings and all the way to making our chapter as inclusive as possible."

"My chapter continues to impress me in nearly every way. From the way the girls take feedback, to their ambition in programming and even to the way they tackle all the challenges with the pandemic. They recently held a great program on feminism. I love watching them grow and teach each other about being strong young women!"

"My BBGs have soared through this pandemic here in BBYO. They embraced the online programming platform, took advantage of online leadership training opportunities, both regional and International, including sending multiple girls to Virtual CLTC last summer, and had members on IC steering. We program twice a month, have held successful fundraisers and make me the proudest advisor ever!"

"We are small but mighty. Our members love and respect each other's differences and interests."

"Over the past three years my chapter has worked hard to grow and engage their membership in fun and meaningful ways. We have improved our events by involving many of the members in the process, leading to high attendance. As projects turned to Zoom activities, our chapter leaders kicked into high gear engaging much of the chapter on a regular basis recognized not only by our region, but by BBYO nationally. This year, we were the recipients of the Theodore Herzl Memorial Cup which is awarded to the most outstanding BBG chapter in the our region."

"We place a heavy focus on LGBT and other progressive causes in our programming. We also have a created a pipeline for these kids leading into BBYO from the age of 9."

"We are the first and as of now only chapter in our country, in our capitol city. We operate locally, however, our chapter is a chapter connecting jewish teens across our country into a one big and welcoming family. Pre-Covid times we met up together for programs in large numbers (relative to our jewish population) and shared and amazing time. Together we are growing to create a multistructural chapter allowing every teen in our country to share a piece of cake that is BBYO :)"

"Every year (excluding this year and last) we do a huge hamentashen sale fundraiser! People all over the country have ordered the chapters' hamentashen (we team up with the local AZA chapter). It's one of the best things we do! Throughout the pandemic, virtual programming has been awesome. My chapter has gone above and beyond with recruitment and clever programming, not letting the pandemic stop them from connecting and growing. So proud!"

"Our chapter is the only chapter in our country, and it started on 2018. Recently, we discovered some old photos of teens from our country at the 1955 International Convention. We tracked two of them (married couple who met at BBYO, btw) and we had an amazing program with them. It was amazing to discover that many years ago, AZA and BBG existed, and that now, we're keeping BBYO alive, and more alive than ever."

"We hold an annual wheelchair basketball tournament to raise awareness of spinal disabilities and raise money for a local junior wheelchair basketball team. In 2019 our event was recognized by the Mayor. While we could not hold the event as usual in 2020 due to COVID, our chapter is excited to continue this tradition in the future."

"When I was in high school, I was a member of this chapter and it is amazing to see our members making lifelong friends like I did. Our girls are kind, silly, and fun. They are doing an amazing job putting together virtual events and working hard to still have fun during all of the craziest."

"We have a strong and recognizable identity. Through thick and thin we have long standing traditions that ensure there will always be a link between your history as a strong chapter and any struggles that you may encounter as the years go on."

"My chapter started last year when seniors left with only 5 members and in only a few months with strong recruitment we grew so much and by the middle of the year we had around 27 strong and very engaged members for every chapter meeting. The chapter exceeded every expectation and won the Chapter Excellence Award in IC 2021."

"My chapter's slogan is Dare to be Different. I love that the BBGs I advise are unabashedly themselves!"

“My chapter is very welcoming which has made a huge difference in attracting members. The Board, year after year, passes on the value that every person who attends an event should be welcomed into the family.”
