For the 100th Grand Board of the Aleph Zadik Aleph and 80th International Board of the B'nai B'rith Girls

Each year at International Convention, the Aleph Zadik Aleph and B'nai B'rith Girls elect a new Grand and International Board to lead our Movement forward. The elections process is a sacred tradition of our Order, and one of our oldest. Officer Responsibilities

All Grand and International Board Officers

All officers on the International Boards will:

  • Commit their entire term to help advance our Movement and continue to build AZA and BBG.

  • Develop relationships and work closely with community counterparts and communicate with them on a regular basis.

  • Work to broaden accessibility from the chapter member without a title to the Grand and International Boards.

  • Be there to support and provide feedback for Alephs and Bʼnai Bʼrith Girls across the Order.

  • Oversee respective International Leadership Network chairs and committees.

  • Attend (via video conference) International Board meetings on a weekly basis.

  • Work constantly and consistently with International Staff to help build events and campaigns.

  • Work equally and cohesively with their AZA or BBG counterpart.

  • Attend and work diligently during August and February Executive Conferences, International Convention, Coordinator Retreats, and Spring and Fall Board retreats.

  • Regularly meet requested deadlines for a variety of projects.

  • Maintain a strong virtual presence via near daily social posts.

  • Identify and recruit teens for year-round and summer immersive experiences.

  • Participate regularly in your local BBYO program.

  • Uphold BBYO policy as stated in the BBYO Code of Conduct and International Board contracts.

  • Be a team player and work to help make AZA and BBG stronger regardless of your job description.

  • Lead by example and serve as a positive role model in person, across social media and at all times, both in and outside of BBYO environments.

  • Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, text messages, Facebook messages and all forms of communication.

Grand Aleph Godol and International N'siah

The Grand Aleph Godol and Anita M. Perlman International N'siah will:

  • Serve as the teen voice and face of BBYO, whether at home or on the road, including through social media outlets, written releases and correspondence, conference calls and other modes of mass communication.

  • Manage and support the Grand and International Board work and efforts.

  • Spend the term visiting chapters, councils, regions and countries across the Order, whether it be virtually or in-person.

  • Work closely with International Staff, specifically the AZA & BBG team, on a daily basis, participating in conference calls and speaking up to voice opinions and ideas.

  • Serve on and work closely with the BBYO Board of Directors.

  • Interact and share the BBYO story with a variety of existing and prospective stakeholder groups.

  • Coordinate AZA & BBG August and February Executives Conferences, and International Board Retreats.

  • Lead and oversee the International Executive Body (Presidents) and find ways to bring them together to continue to help build the Movement beyond the August and February Executives Conferences.

  • Oversee all ILN Committees and Task Forces, ensuring Movement wide participation and accessibility.

Grand Aleph S'gan and International S'ganit

The Grand Aleph S'gan and International S'ganit will:

  • Spearhead program innovation, sophistication and excellence efforts throughout the Movement.

  • Review, modify, and steward International Awards and facilitate year-round application cycles and promotion.

  • Serve as the lead teen coordinators for International Convention and manage the AZA & BBG IC Steering Team to build an excellent experience that displays the highest possible program quality.

  • Create and monitor programming resources that the entire Order can look to for program guidance.

  • Spearhead AZA & BBG Founders’ Day Initiative, working to ensure all communities celebrate and participate in programming in some capacity.

  • Oversee all programming campaigns and initiatives and ensure accessibility across all levels of the Movement including AZAA, BBGG, high-resolution programming.

  • Work constantly with counterparts (Country, Regional, Council, and Chapter S’ganim; convention coordinators/chairs) to ensure that programming at all levels is a unique and quality experience that attracts prospects and keeps members involved.

Grand Aleph Moreh and International Aym Ha'Chaverot

The Grand Aleph Moreh and International Aym Ha'Chaverot will:

  • Lead the growth effort of AZA & BBG membership and prospect engagement.

  • Ensure that every community has a growth plan including year-long and/or rush recruitment.

  • Support chapters, councils, regions, and countries in their chapter start-up efforts.

  • Expand and create new ways to teach AZA and BBG history as well as develop teen leadership.

  • Train the Order on BBYO’s relationship driven recruitment model, MRIHA, and support related programming (Big/Little, MIT/AIT Education, Inductions, etc.).

  • Facilitate the recruitment and integration of 8th graders into AZA & BBG during the Spring semester.

  • Build and manage the CLTC Coordinator application and selection process and steward the cohort of coordinators.

  • Steward building and leading the freshman experience at International Convention.

  • Promote and strengthen the Chapter Leadership Training Conference (CLTC) and coordinate one of the sessions if work ethic and results throughout the year warrant it.

  • Work constantly with counterparts (Regional, Council and Chapter Morim and Mekasherim) to ensure the growth, education and ongoing engagement of our members is a priority.

Grand Aleph Mazkir and International Mazkirah

The Grand Aleph Mazkir and International Mazkirah will:

  • Lead efforts to better connect the Movement by working with the International Leadership Network of elected and appointed officers.

  • Oversee the recruitment and management of the Press Corps.

  • Support the branding, promotion, and communication of all Movement Initiatives and Campaigns.

  • Strengthen communication efforts at all levels of the Order, across all platforms.

  • Manage the Grand and International Constitutions and ensure regular upkeep, as well as existence and alignment of community constitutions to the Grand and International documents.

  • Develop best practice social media guidelines and encourage Movement-wide social media communication efforts.

  • Keep and distribute minutes at weekly board meetings, executive body meetings, and international body meetings.

  • Promote and strengthen the International Leadership Training Conference (ILTC), along with coordinating the program if work ethic and results throughout the year warrant it.

  • Work constantly with counterparts (Regional, Council, National, Country, and Chapter Mazkirim, Sophrim, Kavaniot) to ensure the Movement is inviting and communicating with active and prospective members, promoting events and programs, building relationships across communities, and documenting the ongoing history of our Orders.

Grand Aleph Shaliach and International Sh'licha

The Grand Aleph Shaliach and International Sh'licha will:

  • Evolve, refine and manage BBYOʼs Stand UP initiative committing to the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam.

  • Support the content and Jewish enrichment of all Movement Initiatives and Campaigns.

  • Strengthen BBYO’s commitment to Israel by creating spaces that foster informed, open, and productive dialogue.

  • Steward the seamless integration of Judaically enriched programming into all levels of the organization.

  • Mobilize the International Order around social action and social justice causes and serve as the touch points for communication on all areas from crisis relief to global achievements.

  • Leverage the resources of the BBYO Jewish Enrichment Team to help support AZA and BBG.

  • Lead AZA and BBG Global Shabbat efforts throughout our Movement.

  • Oversee J-Serve initiative, establish the vision, foster partnerships, and create resources to be used throughout the Order.

  • Work to promote and strengthen International Kallah, along with coordinating the program if work ethic and results throughout the year warrant it.

  • Work constantly with counterparts (Regional, Council, National, Country, and Chapter Sh’lichim, Yehudiot, Shomerim, Doverim, Chaverim) to ensure the Movement is placing priority on planning meaningful and high-level training and programming around Israel, Stand UP, and Jewish Enrichment.

Grand Aleph Gizbor and International Gizborit

The Grand Aleph Gizbor and International Gizborit will:

  • Oversee and coordinate all International, Regional, Council, National, Country, and chapter fundraising drives and campaigns pertaining to the International Service Fund (ISF).

  • Assist in the development and growth of chapter treasuries and scholarship funds.

  • Support the mobilization, budgeting, and fundraising for all Movement Initiatives and Campaigns.

  • Promote and support all Stand UP Philanthropy training resources and efforts.

  • Curate tools to enhance fundraising, budgeting, and finance skills around the Order.

  • Manage the Gamechanger Granting Committee to steward, promote, and disburse Gamechanger Grants to chapter programs.

  • Partner on stewardship of the J-Serve initiative, supporting on building resources and coaching on community execution.

  • Serve as the teen points for donor engagement and large-scale fundraisers, such as #givingBBYOday.

  • Promote innovative and successful fundraising tactics on all levels of the organization.

  • Work constantly with counterparts (Regional, Council, National, Country, and Chapter Gizborim) to ensure that chapters are financially healthy and fiscally responsible, through running fundraisers, tracking accounts, and building program budgets.
